The A.R.F. Shack greatly appreciates those community members that find it in their hearts to actually 'sponsor' the medical needs of a particular animal. There is no discrimination on the part of The A.R.F. Shack. The A.R.F. Shack is often asked to assist the animals in need of heartworm treatments; animals other rescues often are not willing to take. By the use of our sponsorship program, since the heartworm treatment itself is more than a standard adoption fee with The A.R.F. Shack, the sponsorship process allows us to help an animal whom may not otherwise have received the benefit of assistance, care and the ability to then enjoy the longevity of its live in a newly found home in which he/she may be placed by the assistance of The A.R.F. Shack program. Often times the above is an avenue for an individual who may not be in a personal position to adopt, foster or give of their individual time at an event.
Past occasions have shown us that often times groups, friends and sometimes complete strangers end up pooling their funds to pitch in towards a particular animals' needs. No one individual has to 'sponsor' the entire fee for a particular animal's services as outlined above. When this type of assistance is received the The A.R.F. Shack we believe it to be a perfect example of what is defined as 'community support.'
Our sponsorships are clearly memorialized on the web page for the animal in which they are assisting. Again, donations to a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency saving animals is tax deductible.
