It is the purpose of the A.R.F. shack to rescue dogs in need of loving homes. In addition it is our goal to promote a supportive and strong alliance with other animal rights and rescue groups. We aim to work together to support legislation that protects animal rights and that enforces penalties on those that mistreat animals. We encourage all individuals to spay and neuter their pets and to avoid any support of breeders or organizations that do not act in the best interest of the animals they profit from.
What are Familiars? According to DJ Conway Familiars are like allies in spiritual pursuits. They develop a psychic or spiritual link with the human they bond with. They can serve as guides during meditations or as models for strengthening human character in some way. The idea is that through deep meditation the human can assume the characteristics and/or the spiritual energy of the animal they associate with to enhance their own character.
Those of us involved in the A.R.F. Shack have always identified with dogs. They bring a deep sense of calm and connection with a something greater than ourselves. We can only strive to be more like them. To forgive, to love unconditionally, to enjoy the smallest of pleasure in the greatest of ways, and to guide and support without words or sound. These are the qualities that those of us who are “dog people” know as dog like qualities. It is why we share our lives with them. This is what the ARF shack is all about. Not helping people become owners of dogs. Because we believe that no soul can ever own another. Rather we strive to create an alliance with our spiritual guides to assist them in finding loving homes that respect and admire who and what they are. We feel it is a responsibility with a huge reward to care for and to protect those who have given themselves unconditionally to humans for millenia. So please join us in whatever way you can with our beloved allies in providing caring loving homes for those in need. Trust us, the reward will always outweigh the sacrifice.
