This beautiful girl was found as a stray back in April of 2009.  Both her and King found their way to the home of an animal lover who just could not turn them away.  After months and months of trying to find their original owners, the 'good samaritans' have yet to turn them loose to just anyone.  Not only did these concerned citizens take it upon themselves to vet the dogs, they also had them altered and brought current on their vaccines...

In time, both Bambi and King, have adjusted to their new home (even if only on a temporary basis).  For Bambi and King, they are home, because they have 'family' and a mother and a father and another four legged brother who look out for them!!  In the perfect world, the story would be able to end there BUT each of these dogs deserves time to themselves; time to be the one and only and their individual time to shine!!

This is how The ARF Shack became a part of the lives of Bambi and King.  We have been asked to find these two beautiful souls their forever homes.  However, in order for us to be able to process an adoption, the only thing missing from the medical protocol required by our rescue was a heartworm test for documentation purposes.  So you can imagine our surprise to find that both dogs ~ Bambi and King ~ tested heartworm positive!!

Each of these dogs are presently guests with our rescue vet in order to have the treatment performed.  Each of these dogs will require five weeks of structured exercise; no wrestling and/or playing fetch for these two...  But after their recuperation period has transpired, life as normal will return for these two beautiful souls.

Bambi and King are two very lucky dogs to have found two people with such big and open hearts!!  Bambi and King are also very lucky that their 'angels on earth' contacted The ARF Shack and that all vetting and testings have now been completed. 

Bambi and King have been fortunate enough to be able to now receive all that they require.  The only thing they are missing is that final and forever home in which to live out the duration of their days...  Can you quite possibly help in that capacity??  If so, please fill out an application of interest which can be found on the left hand side of this website screen.  Both are just beside themselves wanting to meet someone with as big of a heart as their present foster folks.  As much as we believe those are going to be hard shoes to fill, we do believe there are others out there with hearts of gold willing to open up both their hearts and their homes to each of these dogs in need...
