Murphy is an exceptionally sweet dog.  She is a spayed female, foxhound mix, approximately 2 years old.  Murphy came to The A.R.F. Shack both heartworm positive and with very beat up feet.  Upon receiving medical attention, I am saddened to tell you, that Ms. Murphy's feet had actually been shot!!  It was one thing to medically attend to her needs in this regard but it would be a whole other arena of care to tend to her emotional demands after ever having to be in a situation of that nature!

Despite the fact that Murphy encoutered human beings with such discontent in their hearts, our girl Murphy is one incredible dog.  For you see, she loves people,  and kids  we are working on her with other dogs. She walks well on aleash and she is very affectionate.

Murphy has since rebounded from her feet injuries and she has been treated for her heartworm.  With a clean bill of health to accompany her, Murphy loves to walk and snuggle and play. She is still trusting enough to get very attached to her person. if you are looking for a devoted connection and a really good walking partner...here she is.  Murphy is a living example of the strength and beauty of dogs.

FOSTER UPDATE:
Murphy continues to improve in her interaction with other dogs. I am walking her with my dogs and she is doing very well. it is the off lead free time that we are still working on. But she is fine when she is in a crate and they approach or when everyone is walking on leash. She is such an amazing dog. She is so affectionate and focused on the humans in the house. I cant wait for her to find the forever home she deserves where she can be the dog of the house, definitely no babying here, it makes her nervous. She needs a calm leader, not someone who will feel sorry for her.
